“Reduced washing and drying could deliver an additional 186 million tonnes of reductions.”

— Fashion on climate report 2020, McKinsey & Company

How to care for your bavni garment?

Hand wash and hang dry

We recommend you hand wash all our garments

Add warm/cold water to a tub/container, mix in about 1 teaspoon of detergent, add a bit more for multiple garments or larger garments

Submerge the garment into the water and swish around, let soak for 10 minutes

Gently rub the fabric together, avoid scrubbing or twisting which could damage or stretch the fabric overtime

Press the garment against the tub to push the water out

Drain the tub and refill with warm/cold water

Push the garment against the tub gently to remove the remaining soap

Hang the garment on a drying rack

Dry Cleaning

Alternatively, our garments can be dry cleaned. A dry cleaner that uses non-toxic chemicals and that offer alternative greener dry clean options like ‘wet cleaning’ (whereby there is no use of chemicals and no pollution) would be the eco-friendly option.

It is best to avoid dry cleaners that use harmful chemicals like perc and instead opt for cleaners that use Liquid Carbon Dioxide or silicon-based solvents
